The following is the advantages for LiCoO2 lithium batteries:
1. Energy Density:
Voltage Advantage: LCO cells feature a nominal voltage of 3.7V – 3.8V, with High Voltage (LiHV) versions reaching up to 4.35V – 4.4V.
Lightweight Design: LCO stores more energy per unit volume than alternatives, providing UAVs with a superior thrust-to-weight ratio essential for agile maneuvers in aerial photography or racing.
2. Extreme C-Rate Performance:
High Discharge Rates: LCO polymer batteries possess excellent electrical conductivity, supporting continuous discharge rates of 30C, 75C, or even 120C.
Low Internal Resistance (IR): Premium LCO cells, through optimized tab designs, maintain IR levels within 1.0 – 2.0 mΩ. This minimizes heat generation and voltage sag during high-current draws, ensuring stable power delivery.
3. Stable Discharge Platform:
Constant Power Output: LCO materials feature a very flat discharge plateau, maintaining voltage above 3.6V for the majority of the discharge cycle.
Environmental Adaptability: Modified LCO batteries maintain excellent consistency within a temperature range of -20°C to 60°C, critical for surveying drones operating at high altitudes or in extreme climates.
